The last several years has been an opportunity for reflection and reinvention. Many small business owners are creating their own path and many are rethinking how they want to show up for their audiences. Part of being a business owner is constantly reflecting on what’s happening in the world and finding ways to continue to provide value to your customers, while not losing the core of who you are and what your brand offers. This can be a hard challenge to balance.
As business owners, we put a lot of pressure on ourselves to have branding that is perfect because we know it’s not only what makes a memorable impression on customers, but also is what allows customers and clients to know what they can expect from us. Our branding is our identity and is our unique way of being able to distinguish ourselves from competitors and communicate what we offer and why we’re the ideal choice. This pressure is a great motivator for pushing us to do our due diligence and be thoughtful in the branding we’re building, but it can also be stressful to navigate if you don’t know where to start or what you want to communicate.
And that’s why I love working with business owners in Business & Branding sessions. It’s an opportunity for us to walk through discovery of your personality and how this is reflected in the brand you’ve built and where you want to take it. You see, each brand and business owner has its own personality and with so many influences out there, it’s increasingly difficult to know what’s you vs. what’s others saying you should be. When I work with clients, we take the time to unpack what drives you, your vision for your brand, your personality and essence, and we collaborate on how to bring this to life in ways that are going to grab your audience’s attention.
A few questions to ask when preparing for your business and branding photoshoot for 2023:
1. What do you want your audience to feel when they see your photos or landing page? Do you want them to feel energized and inspired, or calm and content?
2. What is your personality / tone? Are you humorous, warm and inviting, or serious?
3. What do you feel is missing from your current branding that you’d like to see change? Do your colors feel stale, or do you feel like you’re just not connecting with your audience?
What questions can we help you work through as you’re considering your Business & Branding shoot for 2023?
