Valentine’s Day this year is going to be extra special for many. For some, it’s a
celebration of a new phase of love. For others, it’s a celebration of love reignited
after the pandemic. And for many, it’s a time when they’ll reflect on how much
love they’re surrounded by. Regardless of what you’re celebrating this year…
what I appreciate about Valentine’s Day is that you don’t have to have a partner
in order to celebrate it.
Love can mean a variety of things to different people. The love of a mother, for
example, is a deep unconditional love that can be celebrated all year around.
The love of a best friend who knows all the parts of you and still loves you is
another. I personally love to use Valentine’s Day each year to show love to my
beautiful daughter. Love has many forms, but one of the most important forms of
love you can embrace is the love you have for yourself. We are our toughest
critic and often forget that Valentine’s Day can also be about falling a little more
in love with who we’ve become.
When I do Valentine’s Day Boudoir Photoshoots, oftentimes it’s for women who are wanting to surprise their partners with a gift that helps to freeze time – a moment when they feel the most passion in their love story that they’ll want to remember forever. But the truly special and unique Valentine’s Day sessions I get to do are the ones that simply celebrate who the woman is. I love that these sessions are focused on creatively showcasing her personality and unique beauty. More importantly, it’s about embracing the experiences that have made her who she is.
You see, Valentine’s Day shoots are works of art. Yes, they’re literal pieces of art… but YOU are the work of art. You are beautiful because of your experiences and the strength you’ve had to work through the toughest moments. So when I think of Valentine’s Day and what it means, I think of a moment in time that we can pause and see the beautiful masterpieces we’ve become. Boudoir shoots are an excellent way to capture that moment so that even on your toughest days, you’re reminded how truly beautiful and strong you are.
So cheers to you this Valentine’s Day, and all the love that you share. And speaking of sharing, here are some of my favorite Valentine’s Day boudoir moments over the years:
